PROJECT SCOPE
DGA began work in 2006 with SOM on the $121m modernization of the 30-floor Everett M. Dirksen Federal Office Building and Courthouse, a Chicago architectural landmark and regional headquarters for the US Court system.
A key challenge in this effort was to maintain the historical character of the original architectural design by Mies van der Rohe while integrating 21st century technology and energy efficiency standards while ensuring compliance with GSA PBS-P100 and US Courts performance guidelines. The project was designed to achieve LEED Certification status.
